We have already witnessed biopics on famous cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While Sachin, himself played his role in his movie, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’, it was Sushant Singh Rajput, who portrayed the role of MS Dhoni in the biopic titled: ‘MS Dhoni-the Untold Story’.

Meanwhile, there is also a biopic on work which is regarding the Bengal women’s cricketer Jhulan Goswami.

Now the fans of cricket and the ever charismatic Sourav Gangly might see his life and story on the big screen.

As per the latest report, it is learnt that Akt Balaji, a subscription-based video on demand platform under Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Limited is in talks to produce a biopic on the former Indian captain’s life.

Ganguly is a big name in India cricket, especially in the Bengal circuit. Fondly known as Dada, he is regarded as one of the best-ever Indian skippers to have graced the game.

As per reports in the Indian Express, the film will be based on Ganguly’s Autobiography ‘A Century is Not Enough’. It is being co-authored by Sourav Ganguly.

Renowned journalist Gautam Bhattacharya is the main author of the autobiography. The reports also claimed that the former Indian skipper has confirmed his talks with Balaji.

However, he added that work is in progress and nothing has bee finalized yet.

Ganguly had a discussion with Balaji films:

“I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward,” the report at the Indian Express quoted Ganguly as saying.

It must be noted that Ganguly’s autobiography provides details on his long and illustrious career during his journey in cricket. The southpaw is regarded as one of the best ever skippers.

In addition, it was under his captaincy that India managed to get into the final of the 2003 World.

However, they suffered a huge loss by 125 runs which ended their campaign.

Meanwhile, as a batsman, Sourav Ganguly is regarded as “God of offside”. The title was given to him by his teammate Rahul Dravid.
