Kamlesh Nagarkoti Makes A Comeback To The Indian Team For The Emerging Asia Cup

Pace sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti made a comeback to Team India for the upcoming Emerging Asia Cup after 19 months. He will be keen to make a good impression and come back in the reckoning for national selection.

The young fast bowler from Rajasthan impressed during India’s victorious U19 World Cup campaign in New Zealand. Kamlesh Nagarkoti led the pace attack alongside Shivam Mavi as the Men in Blues brought the title home under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw.

He returned with nine wickets in the competition and was economical throughout the tournament. Before copping up the injury, Nagarkoti played nine List A games for Rajasthan. He also picked the first-ever hat-trick for his state side in List A cricket. Kamlesh Nagarkoti was last seen during the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year.

Nagarkoti got a reward for his excellent performance in the U19 World Cup as Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Kolkata Knight Riders roped the young pacer. However, he has not played a game for them as of now due to injury. He sustained the injury just before IPL 2018.

Experts in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru are constantly monitoring Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s injury. There he underwent rehab following stress fractures in his lower back, heel and ankle. And now after regaining fitness, Nagarkoti will look to put his best feet forward in Emerging Asia Cup and come back in the reckoning for an India spot.

Bangladesh will host the tournament in November this year.
