Kareena Kapoor Reveals Her Favourite Cricketer, Calls Him The Next Sachin Tendulkar

While the comparison between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar has been a hot topic for debate in the cricketing circles, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has given her topic.

Kohli’s unbelievable exploits on the cricket field has made majority compare him with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Currently the best ODI and T20I batsman, Kohli has already hit a staggering 30 centuries in only 196 ODIs to go level with the legendary Ricky Ponting in the list of most centuries. The India skipper is now only behind Tendulkar who has scored a mind-boggling 51 centuries in the 50-over format.

But while there is a still a long way to go for Kohli before Tendulkar’s record even comes in sight, it has not stopped fans and pundits from comparing him with his illustrious predecessor. And Kareena Kapoor has also joined the bandwagon. In fact, the Bollywood diva feels Kohli is already the next Sachin Tendulkar. Kareena gave her opinion on the Kohli-Tendulkar comparisons in a recent interview.

“I love the way Virat plays. He is my favourite,” Kareena told India.com, before going on to compare Kohli with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. “Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar? After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession.”

Meanwhile, Kohli himself has admitted that breaking Tendulkar’s record is ‘quite a bit away’.

“The great man (Sachin Tendulkar) is quite a bit away. That’s going to take a hell of an effort. Again, I am not thinking about that. It’s only about the team where even if I score a 90 not out and the team goes across the line, it’s good enough for me,” Kohli had said after scoring his 30th ODI ton in Sri Lanka.
