B Vinod Kumar, President of Kerala Cricket Association, has resigned from his post after financial irregularities in the state association. This is the second big resignation from the board in a matter of few months.

Last year, TC Mathew was also forced to quit his job.

Rocklin John has succeeded b Vinod Kumar.

“I have been duped into signing some contracts while I was the secretary of the Idukki association. I take moral responsibility of the failure of functioning of the Idukki association,” Vinod told TOI.

He (John) is presently an office bearer of KCA. The state cricket association accepted the Lodha reforms last year.

Following that, TC Mathew also ended his association with the state association as he had been associated with KCA for 20 years. The state association went onto host T20I in November, after accepting the reforms.

The Lodha reforms took down BCCI and its affiliated state associations.

Anurag Thakur was sacked as BCCI’s President last year.

On January 2 last year, The Supreme Court of India sacked BCCI President Anurag Thakur and Board’s Secretary, Ajay Shirke. This also led to few of the ineligible office bearers leaving their post in BCCI and state associations.

The Court formed a four-member committee led by Vinod Rai to implement Lodha Reforms on the board. Two of the members viz Vikram Limaye and Ramachandra Guha had quit their post in the panel.

The board is yet to accept the Lodha reforms in toto.

The COA hasn’t been able to implement the Lodha reforms till now. Though, few of the steps have been taken in accordance with the reforms.

Two of the selectors were forced to give up their job as they did not fulfil the criteria.
