Kevin Pietersen on Monday took a jibe at the US President Donald Trump’s pronunciation of former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s name. Trump is currently on his maiden visit to India and was received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon as the city welcomed the US President with great enthusiasm.

While speaking at the Motera Stadium, as part of Namaste Trump event, Trump gave a special mention to Indian cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

The visiting President was not able to pronounce Sachin’s name correctly and said “Soo-chin Tendulkar” instead.

Though Trump received thunderous applause from the crowd for heaping praise on the Indian cricketers, he was also trolled on social media for his failure to get the names correct.

“This is the country where the people cheer on some of the world’s greatest cricket players from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli,” Donald Trump said.

However, he pronounced Sachin “Soo-chin” and Virat Kohli as “Virot Kolee”.

Meanwhile, the former England skipper Pietersen looked unimpressed with Trump’s gaffe as he tagged English broadcaster, Piers Morgan, to post his message on Twitter.

In his tweet, Pietersen asked the US President to do some research before his speech.

“FFS, @piersmorgan, pls ask your mate to do some research in pronouncing legends names?!,” Pietersen tweeted.

Earlier, ICC also trolled the US president for mispronouncing the name of Sachin Tendulkar.

ICC tweeted a video where it could be seen that they were changing Sachin’s name to Soo-chin Tendulkar in their database.

Trump visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahemadabad before addressing a crowd of around one lakh people at the Motera Stadium.

The newly-constructed stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 1,10,000. Trump was accompanied by his family Melania Trump at the stadium and was left impressed with the arrangements at the arena.
