He’s regarded one of the all-time great all-rounders of the game, who made 25,534 runs across all formats and also took a whopping 577 wickets. Jacques Kallis was named Player of the Year and Test Player of the Year at the ICC Awards in October 2005. In the 2007 World Cup, he was South Africa’s highest run-scorer, with 485 runs.

Kallis announced his retirement from international cricket in 2014 after aggregating 13289 runs in 1676 Tests and 11529 runs in 328 ODIs. In a career that lasted 18 years, Kallis bagged a total of 292 Test and 273 ODI wickets.

Though I don’t necessarily agree that Kallis is the ?, he was a huge player who always seemed to have the most impact on a game at the most important times, with bat, ball or in the cordon. For that he is a worthy contender!!
