Indian left-arm fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has been amongst the many impressed with T Natarajan’s performances in the white-ball games in Australia. T Natarajan, who travelled with the Indian team as a net bowler, went on to earn a place in the squad and contributed to India’s T20 series victory hugely. Khaleel Ahmed, who plays with the left-arm seamer in SunRisers Hyderabad, labelled him as a highly talented bowler.

T Natarajan put Australia’s batsmen in trouble from the get-go, taking two wickets in his ODI debut while conceding 70 runs in ten overs. The 29-year old, who took 16 wickets in IPL 2020 and nailed more than 40 yorkers in the tournament, took three wickets in his first T20I appearance. He went on to bag three more in the next two matches to end up with six at an economy rate of only 6.91.

Khaleel Ahmed that T Natarajan bowled exceptionally well, having plenty of control throughout, playing a significant role in India’s T20 series victory. According to Khaleel, Pandya’s statement of awarding the man of the series award to the rookie seamer was justified and revealed feeling highly delighted at seeing his SunRisers teammate perform well.

“Natarajan bowled really well. He bowled with so much control. He is one of the players who played a big role in India’s win. He contributed so well. That’s why Pandya said he deserved the man of the series award. Natarajan and I have played together at SunRisers. He is a talented bowler. I am really happy for him,” Ahmed told Times of India.

The 23-year old believes that the victory in the third ODI earned India the momentum and the series triumph in T20Is would also be decisive in the Test series.

The credit goes to our captain Virat Kohli. He knows how to take the team out of trouble. It was an amazing series. Team India looked confident in the series. We lost the ODI series but the win in the third ODI gave the Indian team a lot of confidence. We got the momentum from there. The win in the T20I series will be a huge boost ahead of the Test series. The win will give the team a lot of confidence ahead of the Tests,” he added.
