Indian batsman KL Rahul has a lot of catching up to do to impress the selectors. Though he has enjoyed a fair bit of success in the truncated version of the game, he has failed to repeat the similar bit of success formula in the longer format.

With India gearing up for the next ICC T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in Australia next year, Rahul would want to make full use of the opportunities and cement his place for the next ICC event. He is not a part of the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh and will have to wait for his turn when India host West Indies for 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs starting on December 6.

During the T20I decider between India and Bangladesh, while India were batting, Bangladeshi bowlers removed Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan early on in the innings. It is worth mentioning here that KL Rahul rose up to the occasion and batted India out of trouble. Rahul showcased his worth by scoring a handy 32-ball 55 with the help of 7 fours.

KL Rahul reveals his favourite batting slot:

KL Rahul loves to do anything for the team. He has been asked to open for the team and sometimes, at No.3 or even lower down the order based on team requirements. Meanwhile, he recently spoke about his preferred batting slot in T20Is. The right-hander said that he is happy to do the job for the team at any position.

I am happy to be playing at any position for the country, it is like a job and if your team expects you to do it, you have to do it. There is no compromise here. If it is a responsibility, I will do it for my team. Everybody is keen to play and fulfil whatever role they are given and we all try to do our best for our country,” he told CricTracker.
