Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer Rinku Singh has invited recent troubles after playing in the Abu Dhabi T20 League. Meanwhile, this is the second instance in a week after Irfan Pathan violated BCCI’s rules by drafting his name for the upcoming auctions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Rinku helped Deccan Gladiators to Abu Dhabi Cricket’s Ramadan T20 Cup title with his all-round efforts (104 runs and two wickets) in the final.

As per BCCI’s rule, only those players, who have retired from all forms of cricket, can play in foreign leagues. Former India all-rounder Pathan recently came under scanner after he sent his name for the CPL draft without retiring from all forms of the cricket. Besides, there are reports that Yuvraj Singh is mulling over his retirement to play in foreign T20 leagues. Thus, with Rinku Singh still playing domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh, the same set of rules makes him ineligible to feature in overseas cricket leagues.

Moreover, he also represented Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2019; however, had a forgettable tournament. The left-handed batsman managed to score only 37 runs from five games.

Rinku Singh recently made it into India A squad for two four-day matches against visiting Sri Lanka. The first match begins on May 25 while the second match starting from June 1.
