Records keep tumbling as the two supergiants of ODI format locked horns with each other. India and England kicked off ODI series today at Manchester. England once again failed to recognise spin web woven by Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendar Chahal who again gained the limelight. Before the kickoff, it was expected that it will be another entry in the highest scoring column partly because of history at the ground and partially because of being a batting paradise for bowlers.

England’s disappointment performance.

It was once again a disappointing performance from England. Though 268 is a good fighting total but considering every pros and con, one has to admit, India will have rejoiced with this performance. England got a flier after the invitation from India to bat first. Soon after Jason Roy fell prey to Kuldeep Yadav, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and captain Eoin Morgan fell cheaply. Yadav terrorised the batsman with his variations that weren’t tough for batters as it appears after looking at the scorecard.

Solid middle-order and cameos at the end.

Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes once again produce a gem of innings as both attained the much-needed fifties who somehow maintained the ship of England. Stokes, who came back from the injury couldn’t produce the desired figures as he struggled with the timing throughout the inning. Nevertheless, it was a much-needed one for England. Cameos from Ali and Rashid got England past the 250-run mark but it’s certainly a below-par total on this pitch.

Kuldeep’s magical fifer.

English batsman once again failed to read the mysterious challenges of Kuldeep Yadav. After winning the toss, India decided to field first. It was a mishmash kind of inning from England as they collapsed soon after the Kuldeep Yadav opened his account. Kuldeep opened his wickets column by bamboozling dangerous Jason Roy.

Kuldeep tumbled the record charts.
