The stylish southpaw of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team Kusal Perera is set to receive a huge amount after being wrongly judged for doping by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). He is all set to earn a huge sum of 5,00,000 US Dollars as compensation following the poor result from the reputed organisation.

In March 2016, Perera flew to England with de Silva and undertook a polygraph test, a hair analysis commonly undertaken in forensics, and also has a separate sample of his urine tested.

WADA released wrong reports of Kusal Perera:

According to de Silva, the polygraph test returns a “no deception” result, and both the hair and urine analyses suggest “no abuse of steroids”.

These results are then used to leverage the ICC and prompt the governing body to look more closely at their processes and the Qatar-based lab’s initial findings.

Later, the results at World Anti-Doping Agency came in support of Kusal Perera, which didn’t go well with the SLC Board, as they lost the services of their match-winner Perera during crucial series at home and away.

After that, the legal team of Perera held talks with WADA over the compensation that should be given back to the cricketer. And, it looks like Perera might get a hefty amount of US$ 500,000.

Perera had to miss several big tournaments like the Asia Cup and the T29 World Cup. Later on, he filed a case in which the Sri Lanka cricket board spend a big amount of US$ 100,000.

However, Perera paid all the amount back to the board from his match fees.

On the work front, Perera recently appeared in the series against the West Indies and will now look to perform in the upcoming home series against England, which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.
