New Zealand’s new pace spearhead Kyle Jamieson is quite ecstatic after New Zealand’s win over India in Auckland. The BlackCaps bounced back after losing 5-0 in the T20 series. The Kiwis have won the ODI series by 2-0 after beating the Men in Blue in the first two ODIs of the three-match series.

Interestingly, this is India’s first bilateral series loss after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Having won the toss, India decided to bowl first. Kohli and his men restricted New Zealand to 273/8 in their 50 overs.

Returning to ODI cricket after six months, Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for India as he clinched three crucial wickets.

Chasing the target, India could only manage 251 runs as the Kiwi bowlers rattled through the Indian batting line up. Debutant Jamieson grabbed the Man of the Match award after his impressive performance.

Kyle Jamieson Ecstatic After Series Win Against India

New Zealand’s debutant Kyle Jamieson is quite ecstatic after the Kiwi win. “Bit of a high at the moment. Still kind of sinking it. The game kind of ebbed and flowed. It was pretty simple: we were just trying to get it through 50 overs. Just trying and stick with Ross. Relief was the feeling to get the first wicket out of the way and not give too many runs. International cricket is quite high intensity, but it was pretty cool,” said Jamieson in the post-match ceremony.

Jamieson received a maiden ODI call for the Kiwis when Ish Sodhi made him unavailable for the second ODI. But, the youngster portrayed his capabilities and made an instant impact for the BlackCaps. He picked a wicket in the first over of his spell when he dismissed the dangerous-looking Prithvi Shaw.

Later in the innings, he clinched the crucial wicket of Navdeep Saini, who was tearing apart the Kiwi bowlers.

For India, it’s a moment of introspection. They have lost a bilateral ODI series after a very long time and they should now sit back and find their shortcomings.

New Zealand has been heavy on them in this format in recent times and now India has lost three consecutive ODI games against New Zealand which includes the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final loss.

India and New Zealand will now face each other in the final game of the series that will take place on February 11 at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
