While social media platforms have been flooded with videos of police beating people for flouting lockdown orders, Kerala police have shown they can see the funny side of things as well. And once again, cricket made its presence felt as the Police took help of the game to raise awareness.

The entire country is currently under a mandatory 21-day lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. And while majority of the people are staying indoors to make sure that the pandemic remains under control, there have been few exceptions where people did flout the orders.

And Kerala Police has shown that people violating the coronavirus will not be spared. The state’s police force posted to Twitter an edited video which compiled shots of people running for cover as drones appeared above to check for those who were violating the lockdown.

The video was set to twice normal speed for comic effect. In the video, people could be seen running through coconut groves, fields and beaches while few also sought to crouch behind trees.

And what made the video even more hilarious was the background audio. The audio was of Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri’s #tracerbulletchallenge of 2016, wherein he asked his fellow commentators to dub his trademark line, ‘that’s gone to the fence like a tracer bullet’. The mashup featured voices of famous former cricketers Sunil Gavaskar , Sanjay Manjrekar and Ian Botham among others taking the challenge.

Here is that tweet from Kerala Police:

Recently, Ravi Shastri had used the tracer bullet term while talking about the pandemic. The legendary allrounder has said: “Only thing flying around the world like a tracer bullet is this bloody Corona (COVID-19). Stay in before the bugger gets you.”
