The proliferation of the novel contagion coronavirus has proceeded to put the entire world under a lockdown. The world of sports has been one of the many professions that have been affected by the global pandemic that originated from the Wuhan city of China late last year. As far as cricket is concerned, its marquee franchise tournament, Indian Premier League has also been put under jeopardy.

The 13th edition of the cash-rich league was supposed to kickstart from March 29 with Chennai Super Kings locking horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29th. But the tournament was then postponed till April 15 due to the steadily escalating situation with regards to COVID-19.

On Monday, former CSK opener Matthew Hayden and the current member of the three-time champions Suresh Raina went down memory lane and shared their favorite moments from the past 12 editions. It all started when Matthew Hayden, who was part of CSK for the first three editions went on to recall an IPL 2010 game between Chennai and Kings XI Punjab where skipper MS Dhoni’s whirlwind 29-ball 54 and Suresh Raina’s 46 off 27, propelled their side to the playoffs berth as one of his favorite IPL moments before nominating Raina to share the same.

Responding to Hayden’s video, Suresh Raina posted a video on Facebook where he recalled the moment when the former Australian opener gifted him a signed mongoose bat after having shellacked Delhi Daredevils to the tune of 43-ball 93 back in the 2010 edition.

“Hi, brother! Thank you so much for sharing your love. I wanted to say one good inning of yours against Delhi. You scored 93 with that mongoose bat. Every ball was going out of the park! You played so well on that particular wicket because the wicket was turning and Delhi played really well. They scored 185-190 something” Suresh Raina said.

He added: “You were looking so solid. We had a good partnership. I scored 49 in that game and I was captaining the side and you made me believe we can win from that situation. That was a very good knock of yours. I still have that bat you gave me- that signed bat. I am gonna share that bat with you. I hope you remember that autograph that you gave me”
