Mayank Markande was recently all over the social media for all the wrong reasons. The young leg-spinner was being trolled after being traded twice in a single trade window. Earlier this year in August, Delhi Capitals had roped in the spinner from Mumbai Indians while releasing Shrefane Rutherford.

But even before Markande could don the Delhi Capitals jersey, they traded him to Rajasthan Royals. The national capital-based outfit traded Markande and Tewatia to Royals to secure the services of star batsman Ajinkya Rahane. One of the reasons that could have made Delhi trade Markande was the arrival of star spinner Ashwin from Kings XI Punjab.

But whatever the reason was, the fans were amused with the trade deal and came up with some hilarious reactions. Well, the fans would perhaps not make much fun of the spinner after knowing that he has been the biggest beneficiary in this trade window as far as money is concerned.

The leg-spinner has earned a massive pay rise after Rajasthan Royals secured his services. He has received a raise of INR 1.8 crores. Rajasthan Royals paid Delhi Capitals INR 2 crore to sign him from Delhi. On the other hand, Mumbai had bought him for INR 20 lakh in 2018 before trading him to Delhi Capitals.

Markande, meanwhile, played for Mumbai Indians in the last two seasons of IPL. He was one of the finds of 2018 season as he impressed one and all with his leg-spin. He had finished his maiden season in the IPL season with 15 wickets. However, he was not a regular player for the team in the last season.

The leg-spinner played only three matches in IPL 2019, losing out on the leg-spinner’s spot to Rahul Chahar. In those three games, he picked up just one wicket while conceding 9.83 runs per over.
