Talking of the final of the U19 World Cup, it was Delhi’s Manjot Kalra who shone in the final by playing an innings of 101*. He led the team to a title victory with his century and India U19 chased a target of 217 easily.

It was the bowlers who did a great job. At one stage, Australia was in a comfortable situation and had recuperated from a comfortable situation, but soon, they lost quick wickets and were out on 216, courtesy Indian spinners.

The victory came after six years, with last title victory coming back in 2012 when Unmukt Chand led the team to victory in the final. Before that, Virat Kohli and Mohamad Kaif had led the junior team to a win in 2008 and 2000, respectively.

Both Kohli and Kaif played for Indian team soon while Unmukt is yet to make his international debut. Shaw can be in contention for a national call-up, should he do well in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
