Michael Hussey Lavishes Praise on South Africa Ahead Of Australia's Visit

Former Australia cricketer Michael Hussey has joined the Aussie backroom staff and he is delighted upon getting the opportunity to work with coach Justin Langer and help Australia in the build-up to the T20 World Cup later this year.
On Tuesday, the former Aussie legend interacted with the media, after joining up with the squad, who are in South Africa, preparing for the upcoming three-match T20I series versus the Proteas.
Hussey was quick to lavish praise on a South African side, who were recently defeated by England, in their previous T20I series 2-1. Despite the loss the Proteas can take heart from their performances given that all three games were closely contested, which is why Hussey was full of kind words for the hosts.
Michael Hussey reflects on his coaching role with Australia; lauds South Africa’s ‘focused and well-driven squad’:
The 44-year-old who is widely known across the world by his nickname ‘Mr Cricket’, opened up his new coaching role with the Australian team, and while he’s not sure of his title yet, Hussey said he was delighted to have gotten the opportunity to reunite with Langer.
“I’m not really sure what my title is, whether it is mentor or batting coach,” Hussey told reporters on Tuesday. “But I don’t really mind, I just want to get out there and help as much as I can and throw a lot of balls.”
“I’m hoping to stay involved with the T20 team right through the World Cup,” Hussey says. “It is a fantastic environment, I really like that the guys work so hard and there is some real excitement about the tournament that will be on our doorstep,” he added further.
Despite the fact that South Africa come into this series after losing their previous T20I series against England, Hussey nonetheless lavished praise on the Proteas side, claiming that have a ‘focused and well-driven squad.’
He said, “They (South Africa) are focused and driven to do well and motivated to put in the performances that will get them into that squad.”
Australia will play three T20Is and as many ODI matches on their tour of the Proteas, with the first T20 scheduled for Friday, 21st February, at the Wanderers Stadium.
