Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was left red-faced after doubting Shane Warne’s prediction for the just-concluded thrilling clash between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Soon after Sunrisers Hyderabad finished their innings on 158 for 4, Shane Warne took to Twitter to praise the Royals. The Royals mentor was all praise for the players’ effort with the ball and backed the team to chase down the total in the 17th or 18th over.

“Spot on with my vibe today. The boys were outstanding with the ball and in the field ! SRH 15/20 short of a good score. The @rajasthanroyals
boys will get these in the 17/18th over,” wrote Shane Warne.

Manish Pandey starred with the bat for SRH, scoring 54 while captain David Warner scored 48. Kane Williamson (22* off 12) and Priyam Garg (15 off 8) played fine cameos to help SRH cross the 150-run mark.

Talking about Michael Vaughan, he was not impressed with Shane Warne’s prediction as he made it clear Royals would lose the game. Re-tweeting the former Australia spinner’s tweet, the former cricketer-turned-commentator wrote:

Michael Vaughan’s tweet backfires:

Michael Vaughan, however, had to delete his tweet after Royals pulled off a sensational win over SRH. At one stage, it looked like the former England cricketer’s prediction was right as Royals found themselves five down for just 78 after 12 overs.

However, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag came up with impressive knocks to power Royals to the stunning victory. The duo shared an unbeaten stand of 85 runs to take their team over the line with a ball remaining. And soon after the game ended, Michael Vaughan quickly deleted his tweet.

However, Shane Warne was in mood to spare him. Taking a hilarious dig at Vaughan, the former Royals star wrote:

“Sorry .@MichaelVaughan- What was that you were saying about the
@rajasthanroyals?”
