After Australia was humbled in the first game of the five-match One-day International series at the MCG on Sunday by five-wickets, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh revealed the side was well prepared and are looking forward to work according to the plans.

“We prepared really well. We were up and about. We just had an off day. We will have to come up with some plans for the next game,” Marsh was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

The 26-year-old Perth-born Marsh, who smashed 50 off 68 balls made it clear that while playing in the top-flight cricket for a nation there is no space for being exhausted.

“When you’re playing for your country there is no such thing as being tired or going into games tired,” Marsh maintained.

Pertinently, Australia is bound to face England on January 19 (Friday) at the Gabba in Brisbane.

“We’ve got today and tomorrow off. We’ll recover as best as we can and get stuck into it,” Marsh stated after going down in the Gillette ODI series.

Moreover, Marsh is hopeful that his side is going to make most of the opportunities while adding Eoin Morgan-led England is a strong force to reckon.

“We certainly do have a series on our hands. There may be an element of that but from a momentum perspective we were really up and about,” Marsh added.

The right-handed batsman Marsh, who sent down two overs in the ongoing series opener conceding 15 runs, has put up a tremendous show since past one-and-a-half-year.

The right-handed batsman Root played sensible innings at the top to see visitors further chase down the target of 305 in the penultimate delivery of the 49th over.

“England are a very good one-day team and have been for the last 18 months,” Marsh further added after the visitors had a miserable Ashes 2017-18 series which saw them losing the series 4-0 under Joe Root, who smashed unbeaten 91.

After watching the blitzkrieg of opening batsman Roy, who blasted 151-ball 180 which was further comprised of 16 boundaries and five sixes when he scored at the strike-rate of 119.21, Marsh stated the attack from England had taken away the match particularly in the first 10 overs.

“Jason Roy’s innings took the game away. They play a great style for fans to watch. They are very attacking,” Marsh asserted.

Roy, who somewhat has been inconsistency has eventually become the highest individual run scorer for the Three Lions in its cricketing history.

Interestingly, the explosive Roy had a poor run in the ongoing seventh edition of the Big Bash League while representing its franchise Sydney Sixers.

Marsh played 24 Tests and 49 ODIs and nine T20Is so far for Australia since making his debut in October 2011.
