It was a superb game for Australia against Sri Lanka on Sunday. They have unleashed themselves against Sri Lanka, who got no answers whatsoever. After collecting one point in the series, they face a major blow with Mitchell Starc missing out from the second T20I game, which is to be played at The Gabba, Brisbane.

However, one good thing is that Starc missing isn’t for the reason of any injury, he will be attending his brother’s wedding, who is a World-class high jumper. Starc will rejoin the squad once his brother Brandon ties the knot to his love of life.

Mitchell Starc, who played just a single Test in The Ashes 2019, was back at his best in white-ball cricket as he gave away just 18 runs in his four-over quota while picking up two wickets. One of Starc’s victims was Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Perera, who was left rattled by a yorker straight at the block-hole.

Short-Bowling is in our plans – Pat Cummins

The absence of Mitchell Starc would open gates for Billy Stanlake, who got a decent record at the Gabba. The lanky fast bowler would be eager to make the most of the opportunity in the limited chances he receives from the team management.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins feels it is a great advantage for Sri Lanka. “[Bowling short is] something we speak about, no doubt, especially at the Gabba or Adelaide Oval, where it’s quite fast and bouncy. And all our bowlers are 6 [foot] four [inches] or 6’5.”

“They’re a really good side; looking down their team sheet yesterday, even some on their bench, they’ve got some pretty dangerous batters that didn’t fire yesterday. We’ve got to be pretty wary of them,” he added.

Australia thumped Sri Lanka in the first T20I of the three-match series to secure a record-breaking 134-run at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday. While David Warner shone with the willow, it was the Aussie bowling attack that steamrolled past the islanders on a bouncy track in Adelaide.
