India’s veteran batswoman Mithali Raj leapfrogged Rohit Sharma as India’s leading T20I run-getter. Mithali Raj went past Rohit Sharma’s tally of runs in the ICC Women World T20 match against Pakistan. The experienced batter scored a fine knock of 56 runs to get India close to Pakistan target. Therefore, Mithali now has 2232 runs in the T20I career in 84 matches at an average of 37.20.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has amassed 2207 runs in 87 T20I matches at an average of 33.43. India’s flamboyant opener had recently overtaken his skipper Virat Kohli’s tally of runs. Kohli has 2102 runs in the shortest version of the same.

Meanwhile, India looks good to qualify for the semifinal stages in the ongoing ICC Women World T20. India was able to win both their matches as they defeated New Zealand and Pakistan by 34 runs and seven wickets respectively.

Harmanpreet Kaur was the star of the show in the first match as India’s T20I skipper scored a fine hundred off just 49 balls. She also became the first Indian Women player to scored a century in the T20I format. India will next take on Ireland in their third match at Providence Stadium in Guyana on November 15.
