Pakistan will once again get back the services of Mohammad Hafeez as an all-rounder as. It will be a major boost for Pakistan given the fact they have relied heavily on his all-round abilities for a long time. Hafeez has been cleared by the International Council for the 3rd time. The last time the 37-year-old was reported for suspect action, it was during the ODI against Sri Lanka in October. He passed the assessment at Loughborough University.

He worked on his action in the last few months. The offie was tested yet again at the Loughborough University a couple of weeks ago. The results which come out today declared his action legal once again. It will definitely be a morale booster. It was due to his all-round abilities that helped Pakistan escalate to the No position in the ICC T20I Rankings. Pakistan also won the Champions Trophy last year beating arch-rivals India in the final.

His bowling allowed Pakistan to field attack bowling line-ups with more wicket-taking options. However, the batting depth was also not considered. The all-rounder consulted the services of bowling consultant Carl Crow. He had earlier also worked with Caribbean spinner Sunil Narine on his action. He has further helped Hafeez overturn his one year ban. The bowling consultant worked with biomechanics specialist Dr. Paul Herron in December in England.

Hafeez failed an unofficial test at the LUMS University in Lahore just ahead of the Pakistan Super League. He missed it quite narrowly and was not allowed to play in the PSL.

Hafeez was first reported in 2005

His problems go back a long way. He has first suspected 13 years ago during a tri-series in Australia way back in 2005. The rules for bowling action were quite different back then. His action was deemed illegal again in 2014 during the Champions League T20. Hafeez was again reported during a Test match against New Zealand later in the year.
