The 23-year-old fast bowler Mohammad Siraj rose into fame with his stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year and was immediately drafted into India A squad. He had a good time with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. Following his success and debut in the national team, Siraj not only caused his father Mohammed Ghaus to stop driving an auto rickshaw for a living, but the medium pacer’s brother Ismail too has made a change in his profession.

Ismail, who worked for an Information Technology firm in Bangalore, has left his job to become his brother, Mohammad Siraj’s manager. Ismail along with his three cousins – Mohammed Amjad, Sayyad Mujahid, and Sayyad Wasiullaha were present at the Wankhede Stadium to watch Siraj bowl in the third and final T20 international against Sri Lanka.

“I felt very proud when someone at the ground said, ‘that’s Siraj’s elder brother.’ It’s altogether a different feeling which I am experiencing now. As a manager, I look after everything… his accounts, contracts and other needs. I am enjoying this new responsibility,” Ismail said while talking Mid-day.

He further stated that the atmosphere around the family is great and everybody is feeling blessed and happy.

“We all came here to see Siraj and expected him to give a good performance. We came from Hyderabad to cheer him up. Everyone is feeling blessed and happy now in the family. The atmosphere is really positive and we all pray for his success,” he further added.

However, Mohammad Siraj didn’t turn up good in the match as he was hammered for 45 runs in his quota of four overs bagging only one wicket. Siraj’s debut against New Zealand also was not up to the marks as he leaked a lot of runs; however, he has shown prospects.
