Former India cricketer, Mohinder Amarnath has showered heaps of praise of young Kuldeep Yadav saying that his hunger of wickets is what impresses him the most.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep five-for was instrumental in India’s eight-wicket victory over England at Old Trafford. Yadav became only the third Indian bowler after Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to achieve this feat.

Writing his column in TOI, Amarnath noted that India got off to a brilliant start. He also believes that this early win will boost the morale of the players.

India have got off to a brilliant start in England. We are definitely one of the best teams in the T20 format, very experienced but you do need a good first game in an overseas tour to keep the pressure on the opposition. This was a very convincing win, and will only boost the morale of the team,” Amarnath wrote.

The former batsman talked highly of Kuldeep’s temperament and didn’t seem surprised to see Kuldeep do well. Amarnath also revealed that his hunger for wickets has brought all the success.

Kuldeep Yadav set the stage with his spell of 5-24. It doesn’t surprise me that he did well; he’s a crafty bowler. He’s still young, but has been playing this format for a few years and has the right temperament,” he said. “I like the fact that he is always trying to buy wickets, and not bowl wide, or trying to contain a batsman running away from him. That is the best way to play in any format of the game and why he has done so well,” he added.

Furthermore, Kuldeep bagged three top English batsmen in the same over to halt their innings. Amarnath, further, noted that no English batsmen had clue against him except Jos Buttler. In conclusion, he also lauded Chahal and adviced him to bowl a lot straighter.
