Let's Unite For Cricket, Let's Unite For India, Says Mohit Sharma As He Urges Fellow Indians To Stay Indoors To Fight Pandemic

Fast-bowler Mohit Sharma has urged his fellow countrymen indoors in order to fight the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has brought the entire world to a standstill and cricket has not been spared either. At present, cricket events across the world is suspended due to the pandemic.
Last month, the BCCI called off the three-match ODI series against South Africa and also suspended the IPL 2020 at least till April 15. The thirteenth edition of the league was scheduled to start on March 29 before the BCCI decided to change the plans because of the pandemic.
The likes of England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and other countries have also called off their international and domestic fixtures. As things stand, it is safe to say that cricket is unlikely to resume any time soon. It might take months before the game could start once again.
And as the world fights against the pandemic, Mohit Sharma has urged everyone to take the necessary precautions. The fast-bowler, who was a part of India’s 2015 World Cup squad, urged his fellow Indians to sit at home and fight against the pandemic as a team.
“The coronavirus pandemic has spread all over the world. Our country is under lockdown due to which a lot of people are worried. Please stay at home, stay safe which is most important. This is the only way to fight the coronavirus. Go out of your homes only if it is very urgent,” Mohit Sharma told Sportzwiki.
“We all love cricket a lot. I am missing cricket a lot and I know a lot of you are missing it too. Just like we make a team in cricket to play against the opponent, we are in the same condition in our country. We need to show the team spirit and Indian spirit to fight against coronavirus. I want everyone of us to fight this coronavirus together, show a team spirit and you can do it only by sitting at home. Let’s unite for cricket, let’s unite for India,” he added.
