The Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin set to play for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League 2020. However, he is not going to be a swap for any other player, as the monetary differences will see Ravi Ashwin moving to other franchises in an all-cash deal.

Ashwin, who was roped in by KXIP for a whopping Rs 7.6 crore in the 2017 player auction, will be heading to Delhi Capitals in an undisclosed fee. However, the spinner is in negotiations with KXIP over his share in the additional amount that Delhi Capitals will be offering to buy him ahead of the next season.

Ravichandra Ashwin’s sale to Delhi Capital is stuck due to disagreements in negotiations:

However, Menon of Kings XI Punjab quoted that there is no such meeting within the board. He also confirmed that further announcement will be made only when the franchise sanctions the move of Ravichandran Ashwin to Delhi Capitals.

According to a report, Ashwin’s sale to Delhi Capital is stuck due to disagreements in negotiations between the player and KXIP. In case of a sale, the buying team protects the salary of the player and pays an additional amount to the selling side. As per the rules of the IPL, the player can demand up to 50% of the additional amount.

“I can say there is no such issue and the sale would happen only when the board of the franchise gives the go-ahead. Ashwin was in the UK for county games till recently and our board has not met yet,” Menon was quoted as saying.

After finishing runners-up in 2014, KXIP have not made the IPL play-offs. The franchise has under-performed since IPL’s inaugural season in 2008 and along with Delhi are the two franchises, who have not won the title.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had also shown interest in Ashwin but the Capitals made the first move after being in talks with KXIP for the past few weeks. Delhi Capitals will be Ashwin’s fourth franchise in IPL after Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant and KXIP.
