MS Dhoni Adds Another Trophy to his Cabinet, Wins Local Tennis Tournament in Ranchi

Former Team India skipper MS Dhoni has a habit of winning trophies and has almost won every possible tournament he has taken part in. However, now he has added one feather to his illustrious career winning the local tennis championship in Ranchi.

Meanwhile, Dhoni is currently on a break after the selectors decided to give him some rest. Thus, the MSK Prasad-led committee left out Dhoni from the T20I squad against Windies and Australia. Moreover, MS Dhoni was also going through a lean phase as he struggled to add runs to his belt.

However, he seems to enjoy his time away from cricket in his native place. Dhoni plied his trade in the JSCA Country Cricket Club Tennis Championship in Ranchi where he took part in the men’s doubles category. He played with a local tennis player and ended up winning the trophy. As per reports the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman won the final 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets and left the crowd awestruck.

Meanwhile, 2018 was one of the worst years in MS Dhoni’s career so far as he failed to get going across formats. He had a series of dismal performances against England followed by Asia Cup and the ODI series against Windies.

Rishabh Pant, who is seen as Dhoni’s successor, made into the squad with Dinesh Karthik. However, MS Dhoni’s next assignment will be the ODI series against Australia after the four-match Test series. The veteran cricketer will be desperate to find his form ahead of the ICC World Cup in England next year.
