Bowlers make Captain look good – VVS Laxman

Spotting out the difference, the former Test specialist Laxman strongly believes that bowlers would make the difference. He quoted that MS Dhoni didn’t get the luxury of Virat Kohli, as far as fast bowling department is concerned.

Under MS Dhoni, India travelled with young fast bowlers with seniors being injured or retiring from the game. On the other hand, Virat Kohli got the best bowling attack, who have got plenty of experience under their belt as well.

The boys, who toured under MS Dhoni in their initial stages are the forces to reckon with under Virat Kohli, as they simply got the experience and maturity in tackling opposition. Laxman stressed that it would be a major difference.

“Quality of bowlers. I always believed the best bowlers are as much important as the captain. The best bowlers will set their own plans and field placements. MS Dhoni didn’t get the experience in his fast bowling section, which made him a little conservative. But, Virat Kohli got experienced bowlers. I always believed bowlers will make the captain look good.
