Even before the players could settle down in the recently-completed game between hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Afghanistan teenager Mujeeb Ur Rahman managed to avoid a nasty injury after being hit in the face by the ball while fielding.

The incident occurred on the very first ball of the match when Shikhar Dhawan top-edged an Ankit Rajpoot delivery. Rajpoot bowled one short outside the off.

Eventually, tempted to go for the kill, Dhawan threw his bat but only managed to edge it towards the third man.

Moreover, the ball dropped just short of Mujeeb and did not look like causing any harm. It could have been turned into a catch but Mujeeb lost it under the lights and aborts his attempt to catch it. But in doing so, he could not keep his eyes on the ball.

As a result, the ball after dropping on the ground and went on to hit him in the face. Luckily, it did not hit him in the eye as he avoided a serious injury.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman still left the field for some treatment before returning.

The mystery bowler went on to impress with the ball, picking up a solitary wicket for just 17 runs off his four overs.

Here is a clip of that incident:

Meanwhile, the Kings XI restricted Sunrisers for a paltry 132 for six. Rajpoot starred with the ball, taking 5 for just 14 runs.

With plenty of drama on an offer, Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled a sensational victory following some bowling brilliance. Leg-spinner Rashid Khan bagged three wickets as Shakib Al Hasan claimed two to break the back of the Punjab-based outfit.

The visitors led by Ravichandran Ashwin were bowled out in 19.2 overs with 119 on board.

Thus, the Kane Williamson-led Hyderabad clinched the low-scoring encounter by 13 runs.

Sunrisers jumped to the second spot on the basis of Net Run-Rate while having 10 points in seven outings. KXIP also played as many games to bag the same points before slipping to the third position in the IPL 2018 points table.

Chennai Super Kings is leading the ladder with 10 points in just six matches.
