Narendra Modi Congratulates Afghanistan Cricket Team on Making Their Test Debut

Afghanistan is all set to play their maiden Test match against India starting from tomorrow at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It will be truly a historic moment for the Asian team as they have come along a long way in the last couple of years. They have played some terrific brand of cricket in the shorter versions of the game and their 3-0 series victory against Bangladesh is a sheer reflection of how they have improved in the recent past.
It was last year when Afghanistan was granted Test status and they will be looking forward to their historic moment. They can pose a threat or two to the hosts. The Afghans have some serious spinners in their ranks who on helpful tracks can destroy star-studded batting line-ups. Rashid Khan, in particular, has looked quite dangerous in the shorter versions and will look to replicate his form in the longest format.
They also have a left-arm chinaman bowler Zahir Khan who has experience of playing quite a few four-day games. Stand-in-Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane lauded the Afghanistan team for a wonderful journey in cricket for playing their debut Test. It will indeed be a huge moment for the country who is devoid of good cricketing facilities. It is a bunch of some talented guys who have given their all in making Afghanistan a Test playing nation.

Modi congratulates both BCCI and ACB
The young and talented Afghanistan national team has made great strides in a very short period of time.” Modi further congratulated Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Afghanistan Cricket Board for organising the historic Test match. “I convey my best wishes to both the teams. I am sure that the game will score a win for the renowned Afghan fortitude and for the historic friendship between India and Afghanistan,” Modi added.
