Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started off their IPL 2020 campaign with a win. The Bangalore franchise will next take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Commentator-cum-analyst Aakash Chopra spoke about the strength and weaknesses of the RCB line-up, mentioning that Navdeep Saini is the only good death bowler in the side.

Chopra said that premier South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn has aged and he is not at his best anymore. He also added that Umesh Yadav or Mohammad Siraj will replace Morris in the death but the onus will be on Saini in the death overs.

“Dale Steyn is not a death bowler and Morris is still injured and you would have to go to Umesh Yadav or Siraj, that is not going to happen. Navdeep Saini is the only good death bowler in the RCB bowling attack,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“From KXIP, I will want Mujeeb Ur Rahman to play. They should play him for Sheldon Cottrell because Mujeeb is a wicket-taker and you need such bowlers against batsmen like Finch, Kohli, AB de Villiers and Padikkal,” he added.

RCB has the record of reaching three finals. RCB entered the final match last time in 2016 but since then they have been at the bottom of the table. Moreover, in 2019, the franchise finished last with just 5 wins from 14 matches. The team chairman has also said that though the team is learning, not winning titles adds pressure.

RCB has been bolstered with plenty of talents in their ranks. However, they have not been able to make the most of it. RCB have played with the likes of Chris Gayle, captain Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers in their side. But their bowling at the same time has been questionable. Mitchell Starc has missed out on playing for the franchise owing to injuries.
