NCA Refuses To Conduct Jasprit Bumrah's Fitness Test

India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah looks set to return to action sooner rather than later. He has not played any competitive game since the Test series in West Indies due to a stress fracture in his back. In both the games against West Indies, he had picked up five-wicket hauls including a hat-trick as India clean swept the series.

He was named in the squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa but was later ruled out due to the back injury. He had also visited the UK with the National Cricket Academy’s chief physiotherapist Ashish Kaushik and consulted specialists to treat the back problem. Even though he did not need a surgery, India team management has been very cautious in dealing with the situation.

He was recently seen bowling to his India teammates in the nets before the second ODI against West Indies in Visakhapatnam. Jasprit Bumrah bowled his heart out and did not look in pain at all. It was a routine medical review as he and Prithvi Shaw reported to the team-management before the second ODI of the series.

NCA refuses to check on Jasprit Bumrah:

Traditionally, the India players report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for rehabilitation programmes after injuries. But in recent times, several players decided against that and Jasprit Bumrah was one of them. Instead of reporting to the NCA, the pacer decided to work under his own specialists.

And the NCA has now refused the mandatory fitness test which can create hindrance in his return to the Indian side, according to The Times of India. It is mandatory for the players to undergo a fitness test at the NCA in order to get the green light for selection in the national team. But with NCA refusing to check on Bumrah, the pacer has found himself in a tricky situation.
