Nepal will make their One Day International (ODI) debut on the Netherlands tour.

In fact, the newly inducted ODI side was granted the status by the ICC after they finished at the eighth place in the ICC qualifiers in Zimbabwe in March early this year. Nepal had finished ahead of Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Nepal will play two One-Dayers on their Holland tour. The first match will be held on August 1 at Voorburg CC while the second game will be played at Amsterdam suburb of Amstelveen.

Nepal all set to play their ODI debut.

On the other hand, the Netherlands will play their first One-Day after 2014. Netherlands lost their ODI status in 2014 in the World Cup qualifiers hosted by New Zealand.

However, Netherlands was able to regain their ODI status after securing the first place finish at the 2015-17 at WCL Championship.

“It’s going to be a fantastic series for both countries as it will be our first ODI since regaining our status lost in 2014, it will also be Nepal’s first ODI ever,” Netherlands coach Ryan Campbell said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.. “These games also present us with another opportunity to expose our youngsters to top quality cricket and I’m excited to keep watching their development.”

Meanwhile, both team players will jet off to London where they will play a T20I at home of cricket, Lord’s. The Associate players will lock horns against MCC which will be led by former Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene.

There were talks about Scotland hosting Nepal earlier. However, Scotland Cricket Board could not arrange for the tour, as they were short of the funds. Meanwhile, it would be a great opportunity for both the Netherlands and the newly inducted team to play in the 50-overs format.
