After enjoying a successful limited-overs series in South Africa, Indian cricket team’s next assignment is the Nidahas Trophy 2018. The series will be a T20I tri-series and will be hosted by Sri Lanka.

However, the third team in the tournament will be Bangladesh.

The series will start on 6th March and will conclude on 18th March. All the three teams will play each other twice with the top two teams playing each other again in the final.

However, the tri-series has been organised to mark the 70th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s independence. All the matches of the series will be at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The new look Indian cricket team with new faces left for Sri Lanka on Sunday for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy 2018.

Rohit Sharma’s men will face hosts Sri Lanka in the opening game on March 6.

Meanwhile, Sharma will have the responsibility to get the best out of the youngsters in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli and other senior members of the squad.

Moreover, the Indian team will be a confident outfit after a successful series in South Africa. After losing the Test series India bounced back strongly to win the ODI and the T20 series.

However, regular captain Virat Kohli has been rested along with MS Dhoni, fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

On the other hand, youngsters Washington Sundar, Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda and Mohammad Siraj have been included in the national side to play in the tri-series.

BCCI tweeted a picture and wrote, “And we are all ready to Jet Set Go! Here we come! #TeamIndia”
