County side Somerset has resigned New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson for the T20 Blast. Meanwhile, Anderson made some significant contribution last year for his side.

The hard-hitting Anderson played four matches in 2017 scoring 142 runs before an injury ended his stay. Further, he scored at an astonishing strike-rate of 184 making the bowlers go in search of leathers.

Also, Anderson held the record of fastest ODI hundred before South Africa’s AB de Villiers broke it.

However, the southpaw will be available from the start of the season. Somerset will face Gloucestershire in the season opener at Taunton on July 6.

I have unfinished business with Somerset:

Anderson said he had unfinished business with Somerset and is excited to go back.

Having had my time at Taunton cut short with injury last season, I feel I have unfinished business, and I hope I can help Somerset go all the way in 2018,” Anderson said.

“I’m delighted to be heading to Somerset for the 2018 NatWest T20 Blast. Having been unable to fulfil a contract at Somerset a few years ago due to injury, I’m excited to finally get the opportunity to play for such a distinguished club. Somerset have a strong squad that are looking to challenge on all fronts this season, and I hope I can play my part as we push for the T20 title,” he said on club’s official website.

Somerset director of cricket, Andy Hurry hoped Anderson’s all-round ability would have a huge impact on Somerset.

Corey has a vast amount of experience and is very well known here at Somerset. His all-round ability will have a huge impact on our performances,” Hurray said.

Meanwhile, Anderson had featured in 13 Test Matches, 44 ODIs, and 29 T20Is so far for New Zealand.
