New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2019: 2nd Test, Wellington – Day 4 Review; It has been a stunning day for New Zealand on Day 4 of the Test match against Bangladesh. Once again, they showed their dominance on the visitors by sitting firmly in the driver seat. Ross Taylor was the star performer, who scored a brilliant double century.

Ross Taylor-Kane Williamson added 172-run partnership:

After losing both the openers for 8 runs in the innings, the experienced duo Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor balanced the ship for the home side. They both displayed their class by finding the fence more often than not during their stunning knocks.

They went on to stitch 172-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Kane Williamson giving a return catch to Taijul Islam, which saw him walking back with 74 runs to his name.  Meanwhile, Ross Taylor carried his scintillating form to bring a double century.

Despite Kane Williamson missing a century, Henry Nicholas gave ample support to Taylor. During the course, Henry also bagged a century in his kitty. They both added a 216-run partnership for the 4th wicket.

After posting 432 runs on the board, New Zealand declared their innings. For Bangladesh, Abu Jayed picked up 3 wickets while Taijul Islam grabbed a couple. Meanwhile, Mustafizur chipped in with one wicket.

Bangladesh lost top-order for 80 runs:

In reply, Bangladesh got a daunting task on their shoulders. They lost Tamim Iqbal in the second ball of the game, who was quickly followed by Mominul Haque. Shadman Islam scored 29 but failed to convert his knock into a big one.

Trent Boult picked up a couple of wickets while Matt Henry bagged one to his name. With only one day left, Bangladesh needs to bat out of their skins to save the Test match.

Performer of the day:

Obviously, it is Ross Taylor. He made run-scoring look pretty easy with his stunning strokes. He was a class act at Wellington with a brilliant 200 to his name. He numbered as many as 19 boundaries and 4 sixes.

Crucial Aspect Of The Day:

The partnership between Ross Taylor-Kane Williamson and then the partnership between Ross Taylor-Henry Nicholls were the top things in the day. Their partnerships completely turned things in favour of the home team.
