New Zealand Cricket team have announced a 15-member squad for first three one-day internationals of the five-match series against Indian National Cricket team starting from January 23 (Wednesday) at Napier. Meanwhile, they have recalled Colin de Grandhomme, Tom Latham and Mitchell Santner back to their ODI squad

Meanwhile, New Zealand will come to the series on the back of some serious form. They recently outplayed Sri Lanka in the limited-over series and will be oozing with confidence. Colin De Grandhomme replaces inform James Neesham, who suffered a grade-one hamstring strain during the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Nelson.  Latham – who sat out of the Sri Lanka series – returns in place of Tim Seifert, who scored only 33 runs in 2 innings.

However, Mitchell Santner, who played his last ODI in March 2018, gets a surprise call up. Speaking about the squad, head coach Gary Stead said they are aiming to gather as much information as possible before the World Cup.

Our two main priorities have been to select and prepare a squad capable of winning what is shaping as a massive series against India, and gathering as much information as possible ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Tom and Colin have experience in this format and will offer quality in their respective roles, and Mitch and Doug showed us what they are capable of during the T20 on Friday night,” Stead said.

Along with Jimmy Neesham, Todd Astle too is out due to a knee injury. The duo is likely to be a part of the squad for the last two ODIs of the series.
