Well, it was an MS Dhoni special in Australia. He answered all the critics with his willow by knocking fantabulous scores in the tough circumstances. His innings are a pure resemblance of his grit and determination to win it for his country. He collected man of the series for the same and enters into New Zealand series with great confidence.

Meanwhile, ahead of the first ODI, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was found in involving intense net session. He practised hard for the Napier ODI, as this is his final series in overseas conditions to get into his zone ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019.

Both teams got strong players on their side:

Coming to the match preview, it seems like both the teams have got settled squad in their ranks. Making a close view, India would hope for middle-order delivering the goods as they did against Australia. On the other hand, New Zealand should be pretty pleased with the performances of each player on the side.

After a brilliant chase by Dhoni and Jadhav, India would be tempted to continue with the same combination that played in Melbourne. This might not be the case with Kuldeep Yadav, as he is not one to be left out for long.

Yuzi Chahal’s incredible six-wicket haul makes him undroppable but with India’s recent changes, that might not be the case. Shubman Gill will have to wait for his much-awaited debut with Dhoni and Jadhav doing well.

Meanwhile, Tom Latham returns after given a rest for the Sri Lanka ODI series and should slot in at number 5, pushing Henry Nicholls to number six. The return of Colin de Grandhomme and Mitchell Santner also provide a different challenge with both of them fighting it out for one slot.

All in all, it is going to be a cracker of the contest, as both the sides are eager to deliver for their respective countries. This is also the chance for the Indian National Cricket Team to add few numbers in their kitty against New Zealand, as the record books show poor numbers.
