India started their tour of New Zealand on a thumping note as they thrashed the hosts by six wickets in the first T20I at Eden Park. While India would have loved a better show from their bowlers, the performance from the batsmen pretty much made up for it. India’s chances were looking bleak after they ended up conceding 203 runs.

However, the likes of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and then Shreyas Iyer came out all guns blazing to take the team over the line with an over to spare. Iyer was the pick of the batsmen as he remained till the end, slamming 58 from just 29 balls to ensure India start the tour on a high.

With momentum now on their side, India would be looking to register another win while New Zealand will be desperate to get back to winning ways after the heavy defeat. With so much riding on the game, one can expect another cracking contest. Moreover, one can expect another high-scoring game as the venue for the upcoming game is Eden Park only.
