BCCI Says No Breach Of COVID-19 Protocols, Rubbishes Australian Media Reports

On Saturday, the BCCI brushed aside any reports of the Indian team breaking the bio-security protocols in Australia and dismissed rumours that it was investigating a violation of the same. The alleged accusation against the Indian team came to light after some Indian players went out to eat at a restaurant. BCCI termed it as a malicious act by the Australian media.
It all started after a fan named Navaldeep Singh tweeted pictures of cricketers, namely Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Shubman Gill having a meal at the restaurant. The fan, who claimed that the players sat close to him, apologised for creating confusion by revealing that Pant hugged him after paying for their meal. As per protocols, players are allowed to eat out, provided they adhere to the guidelines.
As far as the four-match Test series goes, it stands tied at 1-1 after India beat Australia in the second Test in Melbourne by eight wickets. After the tourists suffered an eight-wicket loss in Adelaide after a groundbreaking collapse that saw them skittled out for 36, India bounced back sensationally well. The third Test begins in Sydney on the 7th of January.

A BCCI official assured that no Indian cricketer has violated the bio-security protocol as everyone is aware of the same. The Indian cricket board accused the Australian media of blaming the tourists baselessly after their heavy defeat in the second Test and sometimes acts as an extension of their team.
“No, there has been no breach in bio-security protocols. Everyone associated with the Indian team is well aware of the protocols. We can only term it as a malicious spin by a section of Australian media and this has started after their humiliating defeat. The Australian media at times acts as an extension of their cricket team,” BCCI said as quoted by Times of India.
