New Zealand completed a 5-0 whitewash of touring Pakistani team as they won the fifth ODI by 15 runs at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first. New Zealand’s opener Martin Guptill scored his 13th ODI century to help his team propel to reach a safe score of 271/7 in their 50 overs. Ross Taylor also played a handy knock of 59 runs in the middle order. Rumman Raees was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he picked up three wickets.

In reply, Pakistan’s team was bowled out for 256 in 49 overs. Haris Sohail was the top scorer with 63 runs while Shadab Khan also scored a half-century. Matt Henry picked up four wickets, and spinner Mitchell Santner finished with three wickets.

However, in a rare instance in a cricket match Pakistani batsman exchanged bats in the middle of the over. It was the fourth ball of the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings when left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz and all-rounder Aamer Yamin were in the middle and tried to chase down the target. Nawaz switched his bat with Aamer’s bat.

Nawaz immediately hit a boundary on the very next delivery. However, he couldn’t continue the hitting for too long and fell on the second ball of the next of the 47th over.
