Pakistan Allrounder Kashif Bhatti Quarantined After Testing Positive For Covid-19 In England

Pakistan allrounder Kashif Bhatti has become the first member of the visiting team to test positive for coronavirus after landing in England. He was one of the three players who went to the UK in the second week of the month to join the rest of the squad.

According to local reports in Pakistan, Kashif Bhatti has entered self-isolation after testing positive for the dreaded virus. As per a report in Cricketpakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is waiting for the report on the player from England Cricket Board (ECB).

Kashif  Bhatti had initially tested positive for COVID-19 but his test returned negative on July 1. He was part of the quartet that had tested positive for the virus in the first round of testing conducted in Pakistan. He had later passed two consecutive tests and subsequently sent to the UK on July 8 along with Haider Ali, Imran Khan and masseur Malang Ali.

However, he has been tested positive once again and is now unlikely to play in the series against England. ECB and PCB are expected to come up with official word regarding his health soon. England and Pakistan will lock horns in Test and T20I series next month. Both the teams will play three Tests and as many T20Is.

There were huge doubts over Pakistan’s tour of England after 10 Pakistan players tested positive in the first round of testing. But after most of those players tested negative in the second round of testing, Pakistan’s squad left for England.

Barring pacer Haris Rauf, every player who was a part of the initial squad is in England. Rauf was the only cricketer to return positive out of the 10 players who were found coronavirus-positive initially.
