Pakistan Announce Squads For Series Against Australia

After taking a sensational decision to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed from the captaincy role, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced T20I and Test squads. As usual, they ring in quite a few surprises with the youngsters getting the nod for the upcoming tour to Australia. The series will see Babar Azam taking the captaincy role In T20I format while Azhar Ali will be leading the team in Test format.

Mohammad Rizwan will be taking the wicket-keeping role for the team in the absence of Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was asked to improve his form in the domestic circuit. Asif Ali is back while Fakhar Zaman and Imam-Ul-Haq continue to be the openers of the team.

Musa Khan receives a call-up:

Wahab Riaz gets the nod alongside Mohammad Amir alongside Usman Qadir and Mohammad Irfan. The fast bowler Musa Khan also received the maiden call-up to showcase his skills for Pakistan. The spin section will be looked after by Shad Khan.

Kushdil Shah was an interesting pick from Pakistan in the middle-order while Haris Sohail will continue to be their strong batsman in the middle. In addition, Imad Wasim finds a place while Mohammad Hasnani have been travelling with the team for a while.

Coming to Test squad, most of the players in T20I squad has made it to the longer version of the game. However, notable names of Imran Khan Sr, who was asked to show his calibre while Musa Khan was asked to represent in Test format as well. The batting department looks rock-solid.
