Pakistan Cricket Board Releases The Revised Itinerary For The Zimbabwe Series

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the updated fixtures and the schedule for their next incoming opponents, Zimbabwe. Pakistan will square off in three ODIs and as many T20Is at home before flying to New Zealand later this year to play a full series. Zimbabwe’s journey begins from the 30th of October with the first One-day international.

Pakistan will begin their bid to qualify for the 2023 World Cup directly by taking on Zimbabwe in three ODIs that are part of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. The ICC has introduced such a format to add more context to ODI cricket and serve as a qualification for the next World Cup. The hosts and top seven sides will automatically qualify for the event slated to take place in India.

Meanwhile, the three ODIs, which were initially scheduled to take place in Multan, will now be hosted by Rawalpindi, owing to logistical and operational challenges. The change in venue for ODIs also means that Lahore will stage the three T20 internationals after the ODIs. The three shortest format fixtures were initially to be hosted by Rawalpindi.

The three ODIs would take place on the 30th of October, 1st, and 3rd of November while the T20 internationals will be held on the 7th, 8th, and the 10th of November. Zimbabwe last visited Pakistan in 2015 for three ODIs and two T20Is. They return for the first time since international cricket resumed in full force in the nation with the nation hosting Sri Lanka for Tests last December.
