Australia’s Travis Head is just a few days away from getting the Test cap, and he will love to score runs finally after getting a chance to play in the extended form of game against Pakistan.

However, Travis Head is keen to put some runs under the belt against the strong bowling side. He also wants to put up a good show and help his team to win the first Test match of the two-match series, which begins in Dubai on October 7th.

“I know I’ll walk out on Sunday if I play and perform and win a game of cricket for Australia,” Travis Head said on Thursday (October 4). “That’s my priority, that’s what I’m thinking about, and I know all the batters are thinking that way,” he added.

Moreover, Australia will freshly start their journey as Justin Langer takes charge for the first time in Test cricket. Early this year, three of the star players, Cameron Bancroft, David Warner and captain Steven Smith faced respective bans in sandpaper gate, and also the coach, Darren Lehmann stepped aside because of the same reason.

“If we can continue to do what we’ve been doing over the last couple of weeks here with that middle order group, and especially the way we played in the tour match, there’s no reason why we can’t do that in the two Test matches in the next couple of weeks and really put a stamp on it,” Head said.

In addition to that, Matthew Renshaw got a blow on his head during the practice game was forced out of that contest.

However, Marnus Labuschagne replaced Renshaw in the four-day game. He spent a lengthy one-on-one session in the nets at the ICC Academy with the head coach. Also, Labuschagne might be the replacement for the opener for the first Test against Pakistan on Sunday.

However, Travis Head is sensitive and can feel the emotions of those players who didn’t get selected in the Test squad.

“It’s always tough for spots, and those guys are unlucky to miss out and have been in really good form but in the tour match we were [494-4]. Guys are in form, it’s always tough to get in the Australian cricket team, and the fight for spots is always up,” Travis Head concluded.
