Pakistan Cricket team have included all-rounders Imad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez for the three-match one-day international against New Zealand in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Meanwhile, Imad and Hafeez were the only players to miss out from Pakistan’s preliminary squad for the Asia Cup. However, Mohammad Amir is the notable exclusion. The selectors have dropped Amir for the Australia Tests and T20Is after he failed to pick up a wicket in the three Asia Cup matches. Furthermore, Amir is currently playing domestic cricket in Pakistan to find his rhythm.
After a knee injury, Wasim, who replaces Mohammad Nawaz, made a thumping return to international cricket. He received the man of the match award in the first two T20Is against Australia. In the four T20Is that Pakistan has played since his comeback, the left-arm spinner has taken five wickets at an average of 17.4. He has also done a fair job with the bat scoring a List A century a few months back.
The Green Caps have also called in experienced Mohammad Hafeez in place of Shan Masood as they try out their options ahead of the World Cup.
Pakistan will face New Zealand in three ODIs starting November 7 in Abu Dhabi. However, the second and the third ODIs will be on November 9 and 11 at Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
