Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was furious with the chucking claims of New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor. The right-handed Kiwi batsman had objected to the action of Mohammad Hafeez in the first ODI at Abu Dhabi. Sarfraz said Taylor’s actions were wrong. Furthermore, the wicketkeeper-batsman said it was not Taylor’s job to make a disgraceful claim. In fact, Hafeez has been reported for a false action on multiple occasions.

Meanwhile, New Zealand was able to win the first ODI by 47 runs. Pakistan had whitewashed the Blackcaps in the T20I series. Kiwis premier fast bowler Trent Boult was able to scalp a hat trick. Boult became only the third New Zealand bowler to take a hat-trick in ODI cricket.

Sarfraz Ahmed is not happy.

“Ross Taylor’s actions were wrong and it’s not his job to do that,” Sarfraz said after the match. “The way he motioned the action on television was disgraceful. I don’t think that’s his job, his job is to bat. It’s better if he focuses on his batting.”

“The way the batsmen reacted two to three times was completely wrong. They are professional cricketers and they should take care regarding such things. If there is a problem, they shouldn’t make signals on the television screen, they can instead speak to the umpires.”

“There is no problem with Hafeez’s action, his action is completely clear and I think the batsmen were trying to create an issue for no reason.”

Pakistan has also lodged a complaint against Ross Taylor. As per the rules, the umpires have the rights to make a claim on a particular bowler action. Hafeez has been punished for his action in the past. However, it was not Ross Taylor’s job to pinpoint a fault in Hafeez bowling action.

The second ODI will take place on November 9 at the same venue of Abu Dhabi.
