Pakistan international Bilawal Bhatti had to be hospitalised after being hit on the head during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match between Southern Punjab and  Balochistan at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday. The event led to disturbing scenes as Bilawal Bhatti was looking completely shaken.

The 29-year-old was batting in the first innings during the morning session on day three when he was struck by a delivery bowled by fast-bowler Khurram Shehzad. He had to be taken off the field following the incident. Bilawal Bhatti later returned to bat and was dismissed after scoring three off 18 deliveries.

He was later rushed to the hospital after he showed signs of dizziness. According to local reports, the pacer was feeling nauseous too after the blow before being taken to a Karachi hospital for medical checkup. He is currently recovering in the history.

Bilawal Bhatti has been ruled out of the ongoing game. Southern Punjab have used the option to substitute the injured player with veteran pacer Mohammad Abbas. Before suffering the injury, Bilawal Bhatti had picked up one wicket in the first innings.

As far as the match is concerned, it is finely poised ahead of the final day. At the end of the day three, Balochistan were on 112 for 9 with their overall lead extended to 153. Earlier in the day, they had bowled out Southern Punjab for 331 after scoring 372 in the first innings.

Bilawal Bhatti has represented Pakistan in 2 Tests, 10 ODIs and 9 T20Is, picking up a total of 17 wickets. His final appearance for Pakistan came in May 2015 during the home T20I series against Zimbabwe.
