MS Dhoni has not played a competitive game since the end of the World Cup in July last year and it looks like not only the fans but also his teammates have started missing him. As soon as the World Cup ended, the former India skipper sprung a surprise by taking a sabbatical from the game.

He was expected to return to action during the home season but his sabbatical is yet to end. While their has been no update on when will he return to action for Team India, former chief selector MSK Prasad stated that the selectors are moving on from MS Dhoni before the BCCI dropped him from the central contract list.

As of now, there is absolutely no clarity on the future of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman in international cricket. He will finally return to action later this month when he leads Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But with MS Dhoni remaining away from cricket field, his teammates have started missing him.

Young spinner Kuldeep Yadav has admitted that the players are missing the services of MS Dhoni. The chinaman spinner said that while the likes of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are doing a fine job in MS Dhoni’s absence, the latter’s presence is being missed.

“Mahi bhai obviously brings a lot of experience with him and he has given the Indian team a lot. So when a player like that is not playing of course you miss him. They (Rahul and Pant) are young and are doing well. Both are keeping well so it has not made too much of a difference, but yes, you do miss his presence,” Kuldeep told reporters.

“They are catching well and batting pretty well. I have not felt too much of a difference in that way. Every player has their good days and bad days and it’s important to back them when they have bad ones. It’s not that you play for one day, there are lots of days in a year for cricket,” he added.
