Parthiv Patel has hailed Wriddhiman Saha as the best wicketkeeper in the world at present. The out-of-favour wicketkeeper-batsman, who is currently plying his trade for Gujarat in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, stated that there is absolutely no second thought about Wriddhiman Saha being the best in the world.

Wriddhiman Saha made his much-awaited return to Test cricket in the ongoing home season and hit the ground running. He returned to action during the series against South Africa. It was his first Test since the tour of South Africa at the start of 2018 and the Bengal star impressed straightaway.

While he did not get too many chances with the bat, he totally justified his inclusion in the team ahead of Rishabh Pant with some exceptional displays behind the stumps. Throughout the home season, the likes of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri hailed Saha as the best in the world and now Parthiv Patel has also said the same.

“Obviously, Wriddhi is the best wicketkeeper in the world at the moment. His technique, wicketkeeping style, the way he takes catches and his energy on the field make him the best. So no doubt, he’s the best.

“I have been on some tours with him and practised with him too. The way he goes about his business puts him above the rest,” Parthiv told reporters at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
